No longer are the Chicago Bulls simply happy to reach the playoffs. The players and the fans holding Chicago Bulls tickets demand much more in 2011. This season’s team expects to finish with a top three seed in the Eastern Conference, thwart the postseason hopes of the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics in the second round, and put up a strong showing in the conference finals at the very least.
Chicago can admit that it has such lofty aspirations without any laughing from the rest of the basketball community thanks to yet another breakout season by Derrick Rose. He is now firmly entrenched in a new level of the NBA’s hierarchy- superstardom. How did this happen? The addition of a three point shot to his offensive repertoire has made him unstoppable. He can shoot a dagger from the arc, stop and pop a midrange jumper, or simply take the entire opposing team to the basket. He has the accolades to back up the statement too. »
